Sophomore Alex Guyon set a new school record in the 300 hurdles at the Division 1 State Track Finals on May 31, 2008. Alex's new record is 40.37, beating the previously held record of 41.1, set by Ryan Murphy, DLS '97. Alex placed second in his heat, and 11th overall.
Overall, the Pilots scored three points at the meet, finishing in a three-way tie for 50th place.
Ben Miller placed 7th in the 1600 (mile) with a time of 4:22.23. Ben also ran the 3200 (2 mile), but did not medal HIs time in the 3200 was 9:45.28. Miller scored two points for DLS, and earned medals.
Matt Wilkinson placed 8th in the shotput, with a personal record of 53'. Matt also had a personal best in the discus with 151'9", an 11' improvement, but was just short of making the finals. Matt scored one point for his achievement, and earned a medal.
Phil Nahirniak finished his career with a 144'3" in the discus.
