DLS Alumnus drafted by Dodgers

Two former DLS baseball players were selected in the Major League Baseball Draft, which started June 5. 2008.
Nick Buss, DLS '05, was drafted in the eighth round by the Los Angeles Dodgers. An outfielder, Nick has attended the University of Southern California. At DLS, Nick missed much of his junior year season due to a broken wrist, but returned as a senior to the team. He was All-Catholic as an infielder.
Nick's brother Brad, DLS '00, played college baseball at St. Mary's College (CA), and also played hockey for the University of California (Berkley). He was drafted into the Colorado Avalanche hockey system.
A standout golfer while in high school, Andrew Buss, DLS '01, has played golf in college, and is completing MBA studies.
Alex Avila, who only played at DLS for the 2003 season, was drafted in the fifth round by the Detroit Tigers, as a catcher. After his sophomore year, Alex and his family returned to Florida. Alex attended the University of Alabama.
