De La Salle’s new President, Mr. John M. Knight, was officially installed as the leader of the school at a liturgy on September 10.
Brothers Robert Carnaghi and Patrick McNally presided over the ceremony during Mass. Concelebrating with DLS Chaplain Fr. John Kiselica were DLS alumni Fr. Brian Meldrum (’02) and Msgr. Gary Smetanka (’74). A number of alumni, parents, and members of the Board of Trustees were also in attendance.
Mr. Knight addressed those assembled and said, “I am honored and blessed to serve this wonderful community. As I thought about St. John Baptist de La Salle, I thought God is looking for us to do great work. There is great work that lies before us. My prayer is for us all to remain open to God’s call.
At the conclusion of Mass, faculty, staff, students, and the brothers were recommissioned in a brief ceremony that highlighted the commitment to the school’s Lasallian mission.
