Senior Karam Will Play Baseball at Northwood

Senior Mike Karam signed his National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Michigan’s Northwood University.

A shortstop, Mike has started on the DLS Varsity Baseball Team for the last two years, and had a .306 batting average and 21 RBI’s to help lead the team to the 2016 MHSAA Division 1 State Championship. In that game he was 1 for 1, with two walks and a run scored. He was also part of the clinching 4-6-3 (Held to Karam to Bush) double play that ended the game against Saline.

DLS Head Baseball Coach Matt Cook said, “Mike is great defensive shortstop and comes up with clutch at-bats time and time again.  He has been consistent in the middle of our infield and batting order for the past two seasons.”

Northwood is D2 and plays in the GLIAC.

Coach Cook also commented, “Mike Karam is not only a good baseball player, but he is a great teammate and character kid.  Northwood is going to benefit not only from his abilities, but also the leadership he displays.”
