Fine Arts

Students in music class at De La Salle.

The Fine Arts Department gives students basic art skills, beginning simply, then expanding to be technically strong.

As they continue in the program, those skills are used to create their own creative voice, both in the style and look of their work, as well as in the intention, or what the work is trying to say.

We also offer a Digital Video, where students learn to write and edit short films.

Computer Graphics is a course based in Adobe Photoshop, beginning with simple photo manipulation, and building towards an advertising agency type environment where students create logos and marketing materials for real and made-up companies.

With all Fine Arts courses, a focus is put on careers within the creative industry. Students have gone on to study at schools such as College for Creative Studies, Columbus College of Art and Design, Penny Stamps School of Art and Design at The University of Michigan, and Ithaca College.
