A Military Wall of Honor dedicated to De La Salle Collegiate and St. Joseph High School students who joined the armed forces after graduation is expected to be established this year. The school is in the process of identifying military alumni (active duty, reservists, and retired).
The wall is meant to recognize graduates who have dedicated a portion of their lives to defend their country and its founding principles. It is also intended to inspire and to serve as a source of pride for our students and the larger community. Names of those who served will be arranged by year of graduation and branch of service around a central display honoring U.S. Army 1Lt. Robert Poxon (DLS '65) who is a recipient of the Medal of Honor. Those who died in service to their country will be designated by a gold star on their nameplate. The display will be located on the north wall of our Commons.
Above this attractive and appropriate display will hang the American flag along with the inscription: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13)
Alumni are encouraged to provide updated military information below. By doing so, they will be assured of being included on this wall of honor.
