WARREN, Mich. - Capping off what was an extremely successful season on the course, the De La Salle Collegiate cross-country team earned academic all-state honors this past weekend from the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches' Association.
The Pilots had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.98, which ranked second among 20 qualifying schools in Division 1. Additionally, Zachary Jarski, Nicholas Schmidt, and Andrew Renaud earned individual academic all-state honors, each posting a GPA of 4.0.
To qualify as an individual, runners must have competed at the state finals. Those with a 4.0 GPA or those with a 3.8 GPA and finishing in the top half of the field are automatic selections. Jarski, Schmidt, Renaud, Preston Earl, Peyton Ross, Thomas Lanzi, and Anthony Youngblood competed at the Division 1 state finals for the Pilots.
