Baseball Playoff Run Ends

The DLS Pilots beat Anchor Bay in the Regional Semi-Final on Saturday, June 9, 4-1, but lost to Dakota 2-1 in the Regional Championship.

The Pilots won their third consecutive District Title, beating Warren Woods Tower 13-2  in the District Championship at Cousino High School on June 1. Earlier in the day, DLS beat host Cousino 9-1.

Congratulations to the team and coaches on a great season, and particularly to the 14 seniors. Their leadership and example have been outstanding.

Earlier this season:

Pilots take CHSL Championship

The Pilots beat Orchard Lake St. Mary’s team 15-8, in a time-shortened game on May 22 at Comerica Park. 

The Pilots reached the title game by knocking off #1 seed Brother Rice, 9-3. Rice had won the CHSL championship for the last six years. 

The trip to Comerica was the Pilots’ first appearance in the Championship since 2011. 

The Pilots are 16-12, with five straight wins in the CHSL; DLS has outscored its opponents 47-15.

The team has some games with non-league opponents over the next week. Districts are June 1. DLS is scheduled to play Warren Cousino, at Cousino, in a semi-final at 11 a.m.
