Bowlers Capture CHSL Championship

The De La Salle Varsity bowling team have won back-to-back Catholic High School League Championships! 
They accomplished this feat on Saturday afternoon at Oak Lanes in Westland by defeating Catholic Central in a best 2 of 3 baker match.  The Pilots led the event from start to finish on the demanding Allen Pattern on games of 963, 941 and 1018.  As the number 1 qualifier, they would face U of D in the semi-finals and defeat them 200-142, 159-173 and 182-168. The championship match against rival CC did not start out as planned.  After dropping the 1st game 192-152, the Pilots rebounded to take games 2 and 3 174-155 and 194-179.  
Jacob Kujawa and Alex Maas were named to the All-Catholic team as they were 1 and 2 in the individual qualifying with sets of 684 and 649. 
MHSAA Regional Team Competition is Fri., Feb. 23, at Woodhaven Lanes. Regional Singles are Sat., Feb. 24. 
MHSAA State Team Finals are scheduled for March 2-3 at Sterling Lanes.
