Course registration for the 2018-2019 school year begins Mon., Feb. 12, and ends Fri., Feb. 16.
Course Request & Scheduling Timeline:
JAN: Teachers begin making recommendations to students and parents for next year during their classes. Counselors discuss with students as well.
JAN 31: Curriculum Guide completed and posted.
Those students interested in AP pick up AP Course Request Contract from counselor, consult with counselor, AP teacher, and parents.
Parents and students review Curriculum Guide course descriptions, consult with teachers, and consult with counselors regarding potential course requests.
Instructions for how to request classes online posted to web site.
FEB 12: Online Course Requests Opens. Students review choices with teachers, counselors, and parents.
FEB 16: Online Course Requests Closes at midnight. Those not completed are placed on waiting list.
Completed AP Course Request Contract due to counselors.
FEB 21: Counselors begin to resolve any discrepancies.
FEB 27: Counselors complete request resolutions.
FEB 28: Departments receive course request lists and grades for review and
MAR 2: adjustments; discuss with other departments/counselors.
MAR 5-6: Counselors resolve any discrepancies between student, parent, and teachers. Counselors adjust any course requests accordingly.
MAR 7: Course request process closed and considered final.
Initial Resource (teachers, materials, rooms) planning, budgeting, allocation begins.
MAR 14: Incoming Freshmen Registration
MAR 16: Course Request verification mailed out for existing students.
Final Resourcing Analysis (teachers, sections, rooms, etc.)
Master Scheduling Begins
AUG 1: Scheduling complete, posted online, and mailed out
