Picture Re-takes, Prep Bowl, NHS Inductions, Halloween Costume Contest, and March for Life

October 22, 2021

Dear Pilot Family,

Many thanks for all of the parent and faculty support during our Spirit Week! Special thanks to Mrs. Ann Marie Michol and the Student Council for organizing the week and coordinating the Homecoming Dance. Thanks to all of our teachers and parents who moderated the hallway decorations, chariot races, pep rally, and to our Varsity Football team that continues to have a fantastic season.

Picture retakes from Patrick Studios will take place next Tuesday, October 26 from 8 am - 11 am. Please bring the picture package that must be returned for retakes.

Next week, we will begin our annual school-wide drug tests of the student body. This is part of our ongoing initiative to maintain a safe school environment. Students provide a hair sample for a five-panel test that checks for opioids, marijuana, cocaine, PCP, and amphetamines. Specifics about the program can be found on page 28 of the Student Handbook HERE.  If you have specific questions, please contact your son’s counselor or Mr. Dean.

The Prep Bowl will take place next Saturday, October 23 at Ford Field. Tickets are $10 each and are available for purchase at Ford Field. De La Salle will take on U of D Jesuit High at 4:30 pm. Just FYI, when you purchase a ticket you can attend all of the games; a football day to be had! Please look for the De La Salle display at the Field to say hello and encourage others to join the Pilot family! Some faculty members will be recognized for their years of service during our game as well.

DLS conducts Wednesday Morning Mass, beginning at 7:05 am in our school chapel. Please feel free to attend with your son!

A full listing of our Athletics schedule can be found HERE!  Please consider attending and/or volunteering at our games; the Pilot family shows great sportsmanship and spirit! As you are probably aware, our teams are all doing well and add to a great spirit at the Collegiate.

Please contact the Admissions Office if you know of anyone interested in the High School Prep Course Session 2 starts soon!

This  Wednesday, October 27 our candidates for the Brother Arator Justin chapter of the National Honor Society will be formally inducted in a ceremony in the gymnasium. Doors open at 5:30 and the ceremony begins at 6:00 pm. Your son has been notified if he has qualified for the NHS, if you have any questions please contact us.

October 29, we will have our annual Halloween Costume Contest! A winner will be chosen for each class and Faculty! Plan Now! We will have an All School Mass on November 1, at 9:20 am for the Feast of All Saints! All are welcome to join us in the gym for the Mass presided by Monsignor Kosanke of St. Anne’s Basilica and Most Holy Trinity Parish in Corktown!
