Beginning of Second Semester

January 15, 2021

Dear Pilot Family,

Semester Exams took place this week, we thank students, parents, and the faculty for the preparation and flexibility. The Second Semester will begin on Tuesday, with No School on Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr Holiday!

If/when we win this Saturday vs. Oak Park the schedule will be adjusted as follows. This planning allows teachers, students, parents, and coaches to plan for the week. Next Friday, the Championship game will be at Ford Field at 1 pm.  Due to so many of the boys being involved in the program and faculty coaches, we will be virtual next Friday, January 22. Good luck to our boys, their coaches, and a special thanks to the parents who have supported us and the team here at DeLaSalle!

The daily schedule for Jan 19-22 IF the football team wins on Sat, Jan 16 will be 8:00 am - 1:25 pm

  • 2nd Semester classes will begin on Tues, Jan 19 with a PURPLE day. (Lunches resume)
  • Wed, Jan 20 will be a GOLD day
  • Thurs, Jan 21 will be a PURPLE day
  • Fri, Jan 22 will be a GOLD VIRTUAL day
  • We will return to our regular schedule on Mon, Jan 25, 2021.  (PURPLE day)

If we lose, this Saturday, vs Oak Park - our normal schedule of 80 minute periods with dismissal at 2:45 pm will begin on Tuesday, January 19 with a PURPLE Day. (lunches resume) There will be NO VIRTUAL DAY on Friday, Jan 22.

We welcome three boys this week transferring into De La Salle, 9th grader: Graham Gill, and 11th graders: Jack Hall and Ethan Martin!

Winter sports begin on Saturday, January 16, if your son is interested in a particular sport please have him stop by the Athletics office or see Mr. Dean or Brother Ken in the Main office.

In the next few weeks, each family will be receiving information regarding course selection for next year. I strongly encourage parents and their sons to discuss their selections, bearing in mind your son’s work schedule, sport activities, extracurricular activities. It is very difficult to change courses once we begin the school year. Please consult teachers and guidance counselors for additional information.

Blessings on your holiday weekend!! Go, Pilots!
