December 18, 2020
Next week, on Christmas Eve, families will be able to attend a Christmas Mass virtually from our school chapel. The Mass will be available on the De La Salle website, after 4 pm on December 24 and will be said by Fr. Brian Meldrum, class of 2002!
Faculty will return on January 4 with a Professional Day for our Faculty and Staff! All students will return to school on January 5 for four days of instruction and review before the Semester Exams. With social gatherings that took place during the holidays, our first week back will have a modified schedule, so that we can reduce any potential exposure and remain safe. The schedule can be found HERE.
Students involved in Football and Winter Sports will be contacted by email regarding the start updates and practice times if we are allowed to start up during our break. The athletic department and our coaches will reach out to our students, so please check your email!
As we near the end of 2020, there are many obstacles that we have had to overcome this year. Let us look to 2021 with the dreams of the possibilities to come and the appreciation for the health and happiness of our family and friends. In these days of very little sunshine, I am reminded of the Prophet Isaiah, “The People in Darkness have seen a great Light”. Let us become a light for others, in our everyday kindnesses with the people we live with and encounter.
On behalf of the Christian Brothers, Mr. Rancilio, Mr. Dean, and the Faculty of De La Salle Collegiate, I wish your family a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year! May God continue to shed his face upon all of us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, Pray for Us!
Live Jesus in Our Hearts!, Forever!
