December 11, 2020
As all of our families are aware, the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools, (MANS) which the Roman Catholic Schools are a part of has filed a lawsuit, hoping that this can help us open, ASAP. If the court rules in our favor and we are able to reopen earlier, we will be in contact with you! With regards to sports, please pay attention to your email, we hope to start back up after December 20. Information will come from Mr. Parks in the Athletic Department.
A reminder that this coming week is a regular week of school with classes and then we will resume on Tuesday, January 5 in person, (as of now), with 4 days of classes before the semester exams!
PARENTS AND STUDENTS
If a student was COVID-19 positive at any time during the period we have been on pause (November 16 through present), DLS will need a doctor's verification on file at the school. The doctor’s note must include:
- A Diagnosis - stating Covid Positive
- A Return to School / Pt. cleared date
- Physician’s contact info (clearly written, stamped or typed)
- Physician signature
Additionally, please keep in mind the following:
- Students that have been deemed as close contact to a positive case MAY return after a 14-day quarantine period.
- As per previous policy, a note is not required to return to school for an exposure, only a positive result.
As we enter week 3 of Advent this Sunday’s readings from St. Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians tells us to, “Pray without ceasing, in all circumstances give thanks!” I am sure that during these difficult times in our world, with the economy, Covid, situations in our family or homes, all of us feel stressed. We are reassured that Jesus is the light of the world and we are not forgotten, the people in darkness have seen a great light! Let us be that light to those around us!
St. John Baptist de La Salle, Pray for Us!
Live Jesus in Our Hearts!, Forever!
