SOCCER RECAP: De La Salle Varsity Soccer Ties with CHSL Rival Detroit Catholic Central, 1-1

The Pilots (2-1-2) played to a 1-1 tie with their rivals from the Catholic League Central Division, the Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks, Wednesday night at St. John Baptist de La Salle Field.

De La Salle Collegiate put up a valiant effort, but just couldn't get enough offense going. According to Pilots head varsity soccer coach Thaier Mukhtar, the first half was marked by "unlucky play." Catholic Central took a 1-0 lead, and De La Salle tied it up less than a minute later.

Junior Zach Femminineo scored the lone goal of the contest for the Pilots. It came on an assist from senior Charlie Freese.
Next up for the Pilots is a tournament Saturday at Petoskey High School, starting at 11:15 a.m. Mukhtar & Co. will kick off the day with a contest against Glen Lake High School.
