ACADEMIC SPOTLIGHT: Andrew Jasukatis

Congratulations to senior Andrew Jasukatis, who has acceptances from eight universities, and academic scholarship offers from each, totaling over $550,000. 

The 4.1 GPA senior has decided to attend St. Louis University, and major in Health Sciences with a pre-med concentration. He says he is interested in helping people and thinks science is interesting. 

Andrew was also accepted at Michigan State University, Western Michigan University, Marquette University, Seton Hall University, Iowa State, Loyola University - Chicago, and Xavier University. 

In addition to being a member of the National Honor Society, and the Link Crew, he is a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Department. A four-year football player, Andrew was a starting defensive tackle.

His senior year classes include Honors Physics and Advanced Placement Calculus AB. 

Andrew says his favorite class in high school was Freshman Theology. “Mr. Berlin really impacted my life spiritually and taught me how to grow as a young man. He is my favorite teacher, and also helped me with letters of recommendation.”

Andrew attended Malow Junior High in the Utica Community Schools but wanted to attend De La Salle. “I wanted to take my academics to another level, as well as athletics,” he said. 

His favorite memory is winning the state football championship and having an undefeated season. 

Andrew lives in Shelby Township with his parents Keith and Michele, and attends church at St. Kieran in Shelby Township.
