Originally a Cub Scout, Nnaemeka continued his involvement in scouting, joining Troop 156, which meets at Morgan Elementary in Shelby Township. He enjoys the group, which goes camping every month, including campouts during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

His Eagle Scout project was a renovation of the athletic storage rooms at Malow. The installation took approximately a month. He raised nearly $1200 over three months to fund the project.
