Congratulations to senior Kadin Featherstone, accepted at ten colleges and universities, and academic scholarship offers totaling over $600,000.
Kadin, who carries a 4.189 cumulative GPA, has decided to attend Butler University; he is interested in engineering but undecided about a major.
His other acceptances include the University of Akron, Central Michigan University, Oregon State University, Purdue University, Mississippi University, Michigan State University, the University of Alabama, Duquesne University, and Valparaiso University.
Kadin chose Butler, despite larger offers from some other schools for several reasons.
“The school felt like a home,” Kadin said. “It isn’t too big. It’s just like De La Salle in the sense that everybody is close to each other. And it provides fantastic educational opportunities.”
Kadin is currently enrolled in two Advanced Placement classes: AP Environmental Science and AP Calculus AB. He is also enrolled in the Psychology class, which he calls his favorite, and cites Mr. Rob Black as his favorite teacher.
While at DLS, Kadin has participated in football and wrestling. His favorite memory is of the sophomore year Spirit Week and the homecoming game.
“It was the most exciting time at DLS,” Kadin said. “Everyone seemed together and happy and we won that week against Catholic Central in my first varsity start.”
Kadin attended St. Isaac Jogues in St. Clair Shores, and chose DLS for its academic challenges and strong sports programs.
He lives in St. Clair Shores with his parents Karl and Lorie Featherstone.
