Advanced Placement Teachers Offering Saturday Prep Sessions

A growing number of our Advanced Placement (AP) teachers are offering testing sessions and targeted instructional support on Saturdays as we approach the AP exam window.

Annmarie Michol, Vice Principal of Academics, said, “The sessions provide students with structured time to engage in full-length practice exams, focused content review, and skill-building aligned to College Board expectations.”

She added, “By simulating real testing conditions and offering immediate feedback, students are building both confidence and endurance while identifying areas for growth.”

Michol says that this additional commitment from teachers is already having a positive impact on academic progress.

“Students are demonstrating stronger content mastery, improved test-taking strategies, and greater accountability in their preparation.

“Just as importantly, these Saturday sessions reinforce a culture of academic excellence and shared responsibility, where both teachers and students are actively investing in success. Overall, this initiative is helping to elevate performance, close learning gaps, and ensure that students are better prepared to achieve at high levels on their AP exams.”

AP exams begin on Monday, May.4. The exams include both a multiple choice test and a written portion. Exams are typically three hours in length.

"While some exams are still on paper, not all AP exams are fully on the computer, but most are moving in that direction," Michol said.
