Twenty students from Mrs. Stacey Stasinski’s Studio Art, Advanced Studio Art, and Portfolio classes visited the Detroit Institute of Arts on Wednesday, January 29.
Stasinski said the field trip's purpose was to connect classroom learning with curated art forms through a docent-guided tour.
In addition to viewing the many antiquities, students enjoyed exploring modern and contemporary art exhibits.
Stasomslo said, “They were blown away by the variety of art styles and the beauty of the museum building.
“For some students, it was their first time visiting the DIA,” she added. “I hope students will return since museum admission is free to all residents of Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties."
In addition to the Studio Art, Advanced Studio Art and Portfolio classes that were on the field trip, Stasinski also teaches Introduction to Art. She is excited to offer a new Art History course for the 2025-2026 school year.
Stasinski says that a spring art show is in the works, in cooperation with the school’s Music Department.
