Business Students Attend State of Macomb Presentation

Four De La Salle Collegiate students were on hand at the State of the County presentation on December 8 at the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts.

Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel gave a presentation on the economic status of the county at the invitation-only event, canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Two students, Liam Hogan and Stephen Spicuzzi, from the Honors Banking class, which includes a paid summer internship with Christian Financial Credit Union (CFCU); attended the event as CFCU’s guests.

Additionally, two DECA students, Calvin Bacall and George Gardey, pictured below with Mr. Hackel, were also in attendance.

Thank you to CFCU for inviting our students to this event, as well as all of the opportunities you provide for them throughout the year and thank you to Mark Hackel for taking some time to chat with our Pilots!

Business teacher and DECA moderator Sandra Coccimiglio said, "At De La Salle, we are very blessed to have such outstanding relationships with the community, local businesse,s and alumni that allow our students opportunities like this to connect with the business environment both inside and outside the classroom."
