Thanks to the generosity of Michael Carsley, ‘88, and his wife Karen, four De La Salle students recently received scholarships from the couple’s Foundation. 
 
The students include current juniors Colin Fisher, Aiden Hester, and Julian Shahmurad, as well as sophomore Joseph Lotito.  
 
The scholarship funds are directly paid to De La Salle Collegiate.
 
The scholarship application included a required essay describing the student’s interest in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology fields, and how this scholarship would support the student’s academic goals. 

Director of Advancement Greg Esler said, "Through their generosity and belief  in the mission of De La Salle Collegiate,the Carsley family is making a lasting difference in the lives of four young men by opening the door to a De La Salle education and the opportunities that come with it."
 
Carsley, who built his first computer on his own time as a sophomore in high school, majored in Computer Science at Michigan State University. He founded his company, Carsley Solutions, in 1996 — a technology and integration firm serving a diverse range of industries and clients, from major automotive OEMs and Tier‑1 suppliers to banks and semiconductor manufacturers. 
 
In addition to supporting scholarships for De La Salle Collegiate students, the Carsley Foundation supports Friends of Foster Kids, the Detroit Goodfellows, Michigan State University, and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
