CBA Gives Angie Aldini Lifetime Achievement Award

Congratulations to Angie Aldini, recipient of the 2020 Christian Brothers' Auxiliary (CBA) Lifetime Achievement Award.

Aldini, a past parent and current DLS staff member, was honored by the CBA at its year-end meeting on June 10, 2021.

Below are the remarks presented by Kathleen Cyr, current CBA President.

It is well known throughout the De La Salle community that many members of the Christian Brothers Auxiliary remain active in the CBA long after their sons graduate—as our membership roster of hundreds of women demonstrates. For this reason, 13 years ago, the CBA created its Lifetime Achievement Award to recognize women who have been the best examples of tireless service and longtime dedication.

This year, I am very pleased to announce that we are recognizing a very lovely, hard-working, kind and gracious woman who is a lifelong friend to many of her CBA colleagues. Angie Aldini, will you please join me at the podium to accept your award?

While Angie is coming forward, let me tell you a little about her and her many contributions to the CBA. A member since 2007, Angie served as President from 2013-15 where she was an ex-officio member of all CBA fund-raising committees. Prior to her term as President, she served as Recording Secretary, and following her presidency Angie graciously served as First Vice President. She is also a faithful Honorary CBA Board Member. Angie has also served as co-chairperson of the CBA annual Craft Show for three years and continued to offer her expertise for years after. She has also served on the High Tea committee and then on the Welcome Tea committee. This past May, Angie was selected to crown the Blessed Virgin Mary during the CBA’s traditional and inspirational May Procession. She said it was both a highlight and an honor for her.

She has given more than 15 years of volunteer service to De La Salle Collegiate where she has been actively involved in many events including serving as co-chairperson of the Evening of Delights decorations committee. While her sons were in school, she was happy to be a hockey Mom and a Band Booster as well.

Proud as she is of the CBA, she is even prouder of her family. She and her husband, Tom, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. They have two sons: Lido, class of 2010; and Dom, class of 2012.

A Denby High School grad, Angie attended Macomb Community College. She had a 21-year career with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the Beaumont Health System before becoming the De La Salle Admissions Office Manager three years ago.

Angie loves cooking and baking, and as her husband Tom says, “like many women she enjoys shopping and going out with her friends.” Angie said that her years as a CBA member have brought her joy, happiness, and friends who she cherishes dearly. She plans to continue giving her time and talents to the CBA, and the CBA, in turn, is grateful for her commitment.

We will now make the presentation to our distinguished honoree, Angie Aldini, our 2020 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award. And as part of a CBA tradition, created three years ago, a $500 donation to the CBA Endowed Scholarship Fund will be made in Angie’s name.
