Cross-Country Places Two on First Team All Catholic

Congratulations to senior Preston Earl and junior Peyton Ross, members of the De La Salle Collegiate Cross-Country Team! Earl placed 5th, and Ross was 6th at the CHSL Championship meet on Oct. 17; both achieved First-Team All-Catholic honors.

The varsity team placed fourth, and runners freshman Robert Trebnik, junior Donovan Davis, and senior Tanot Devereaux achieved varsity letter times.

The JV1 group and the JV2 group each took 4th place overall.

Coach Sandy Buchanan reported:

  • Eight runners beat their meet challenge goal

  • 19 out of 21 runners set personal course records

  • 10 runners set their season personal record

The performance improved the team’s ranking from 4th to 2nd for this Wednesday’s Pre-Regional Meet. The team will meet at 3 p.m., Oct. 21, at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township. The top four teams, plus seven individuals not on one of those teams, will advance to the Region 8 meet Saturday, Oct. 31, at Chandler Park Golf Course in Detroit.
