De La Salle Collegiate Hosts First Ever Alumni Class Captains' Meeting

De La Salle Collegiate made history Wednesday, July 21, hosting its first ever alumni class captains’ meeting.

Thirty-one alumni from 25 different graduating years, starting with the class of 1950, were in attendance for the inaugural meeting, which was held on campus at De La Salle.

The alums met to discuss a variety of topics, including upcoming alumni-based events (i.e. Toast of the Town with Pistons legend Isiah Thomas Thursday, Aug. 5), the best practices for organizing class reunions and how to get other De La Salle alums more actively involved with the school.

De La Salle Alumni Relations Director Dennis Koch, ‘94, saw the meeting as a step in the right direction for further expanding the school’s already strong alumni base.

“It was tremendous to get all of the class leaders in the same room together for the first time in school history,” Koch said. “I think we successfully laid the foundation for something that will become even bigger and better moving forward. I am confident that through having these class captains, we will be able to expand our reach with our reunions and our major annual school events, including the Christian Brothers’ Dinner and the Christian Brothers’ Classic.”
