De La Salle Varsity Soccer Wins Two Out of Three, Ties Other Contest, in Tripleheader Saturday
The De La Salle varsity soccer program kicked off the 2021 season by hosting a tripleheader Saturday at St. John Baptist de La Salle Field.
 
The Pilots (2-0-1) were victorious in two of the three contests, beating Clinton Twp. Chippewa Valley in the opener, 1-0, and Dearborn Crestwood, 4-2, in the finale. In the middle game, De La Salle tied Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, 0-0.
 

GAME 1: De La Salle 1, Chippewa Valley High School 0 
Junior Michele Pizzo scored on a rebound off a shot from senior Cody Czegus. Junior goaltender Jeremiah Johnson recorded the shutout. 

GAME 2: De La Salle Collegiate 0, Stoney Creek High School 0
Senior goaltender Ryan Golden recorded five saves to earn the shutout. Senior Charlie Freese and junior Zach Femminineo also played well for the Pilots. 

GAME 3: De La Salle Collegiate 4, Dearborn Heights Crestwood 2
Senior Marco Foltz and junior Dean Oakie each tallied two goals and one assist each. Juniors Cameron Kozich and Jacob Dupke each had an assist for the Pilots.  

The Pilots travel to Rochester Adams on Tuesday, Aug. 24. The junior varsity-B squad will kick off things at 4:00 p.m., followed by JV-A at 5:30 p.m. and varsity at 7:00 p.m.
