Six De La Collegiate students competed in the DECA State Conference Competition held at Huntington Place (formerly TCF Center) in Detroit the weekend of March 11-12, 2022, with five DLS team members earning finalist status. 

The finalists include: 

• Seniors Abishek Nirmal Kumar and Ethan Arun, role play medal and finalists in  - Entrepreneurship Team Decision Making.
• Juniors George Gardey and Calvin Bacall, test medal and finalists in Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making.
• Junior Martino Kas-Mikha, finalist in Principles of Business Management.

Junior Gabe Jones qualified in Principles of Finance, as a result of district competition in January 2022.

DLS Business teacher Mrs. Aarran Meier, the DLS DECA moderator said, “The team of 17 students began preparing for competition in October.

“ They have worked hard and have earned more than medals; they have built relationships and connections that will remain now and into the future,” Meier said.
