Fall Blood Drive Nets 43 Pints

At the November 13 Blood Drive, sponsored by De La Salle's HOSA Club, there were 43 successful donations.

Those 43 pints will help up to 129 patients in our community.

According to the the American Red Cross, De La Salle had an 86% success rate, making it the strongest blood drive in the state of Michigan that day.

Science teacher Mrs. Mary Balamucki, who moderates HOSA, said 21 of the 43 successful donors were "first-timers."

Many thanks and gratitude to all who participated, and particularly to the HOSA students who handled a variety of duties throughout the donation period.

Mrs. Balamucki noted that seniors Bill Gintner and Michael Voronenko were very involved the entire day.
