Free Coney Lunch Provides Change in Routine

Students in the Class of 2021 enjoyed a free coney lunch on Monday, courtesy of Principal Brother Ken Kalinowski.

“Our students have been so incredibly cooperative as we navigate our way through this pandemic, and I wanted to let them have some sort of treat to break up the school day,” said Brother Ken. “We’re doing what we can to make the school year normal,  and Coney days are part of that normalcy.”

Instead of eating lunch inside, seniors were able to head to the new football stadium, and select either a coney or hot dog. Students could eat outside or return to their advisory class. Many chose to take advantage of the clear day.

National Coney Island provided the grill and fixings, while Student Council officers distributed chips and bottled water.

Tuesday, October 6, will be the juniors’ turn, with sophomores and freshmen scheduled for October 12 and 13.
