Junior Collins Wins Harvard Prize Book

Congratulations to junior Mason Collins, the recipient of the 2022 Harvard Book Prize, donated by the local Harvard Alumni Club of Detroit.

Mason, who has the highest cumulative GPA in his class, was nominated by Counselor Mr. Tony Albani. Mr. Albani said that the selected student must display excellence in scholarship and high character, combined with achievement

He said the award has been presented to a top student at DLS for the past 16 years.

The books are awarded annually in nearly 2,000 high schools around the world. Participating clubs see the Prize Books as a way to help attract the attention of talented young students to the opportunities at Harvard.

Mason, the newly elected Student Council President for the 2022-2023 school year, said the book, “Making the Most of College,” provides useful information about the college process, particularly freshman year.
