James Walter, Class of 2023, was busy in the days before Christmas.

He loaded, delivered, and unpacked a truckload of donations for the St. Faustina St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, collected from Briarwood Elementary, located south of 12 Mile Rd. in the Warren Woods School District. Walter’s mother is principal of Briarwood.

Joan Theisen, president of the charitable group at St. Faustina, noted Walter’s hard work in delivering the items.

“James is a fine example of the type of young man we are proud to have in our Catholic community,” Theisen wrote in a letter to DLS Principal Brother Ken Kalinowski.

James is a member of the DLS Bowling team, the DLS Band (baritone saxophone), and participates in the Sportsmen’s Club.

A Boy Scout, James recently earned his Life Rank, and is beginning work on his Eagle Scout project.
