Lenten Collection Benefits Homeless Children

The recent charitable effort to collect hygiene items for homeless children, one of several Lenten activities at De La Salle, ended today.

Students and families donated more than eight boxes of items, which are being delivered to the Macomb Children’s Foundation. That group will deliver the donated items to agencies dealing with the homeless and poverty-level children.

Junior Anthony Bitonti led the effort, along with the Student Council.

"I've been pretty blessed," Anthony said. "So giving back to the community is something I try to do as much as I can."
