Military History Club Visits River Raisin Battlefield

Recently, Mr. Brent Castine, social studies teacher, and the Military History Club took a field trip to the River Raisin National Battlefield Park

During the January 23 trip, the students learned about the colonial settlements of the Detroit area, as well as the role Detroit played in the War of 1812.

The group also saw a black powder demonstration and toured the battlefield, learning about the tragic role that the Battles of the River Raisin played on US-Native American relations throughout the nineteenth century.
