De La Salle Collegiate is pleased to announce that Mr. Scott Husken has been named the STEM Director for the Steve and Kathy McShane STEM Innovation Center.
Husken, a resident of Macomb Township, is currently a technology teacher at the Anchor Bay School District. He will begin his new position on July 1st to assist in the construction of the STEM center, slated to open in Fall 2025.
Husken has 25 years of educational experience as a classroom teacher. During his 23-year tenure with the Anchor Bay Schools, Husken facilitated professional development opportunities for staff, served on multiple curriculum writing committees, coached an after-school engineering club that produced multiple state qualifiers, and coached football, wrestling, and track at various levels among many other duties. In 2019, Husken was recognized as Teacher of the Year for the Anchor Bay School District.
Upon accepting his new position, Husken stated, “My family and I are excited, blessed, and humbled to be chosen for this amazing opportunity. Along with the faculty and staff, I will work to build upon the long legacy of excellence that is expected by the De La Salle community. I hope to provide the students with skills that will give them a leg up on the competition for 21st-century jobs.”

His passion for both technology and teaching are quite evident. We are excited to begin providing our students opportunities for technology-based certifications, internships, and Advanced Placement classes.”
