The Pilot Pride Parent Newsletter is produced for the parents and friends of De La Salle Collegiate. The news and notes are compiled by the school’s faculty and staff, and emailed each week during the school year.
 
THIS WEEK AT THE COLLEGIATE
INFINITE CAMPUS UPDATES: Every parent and student needs to create their own separate account in the student information system, Infinite Campus. If you or your son does not have separate accounts or have questions, please send an email to Mrs. Sheryl Anderson or Mr. Dennis Parks.

INFINITE CAMPUS TIPS: (logged in as a Parent)
Click on Message Center - Inbox to see all the weekly school newsletters
Go to Food Service to place funds in your son’s lunch account (students do not have this function online)
Download the Campus Parent App on iPhone or Android to access your account on your phone. (Students can download Campus Student App)
If you need to update your contact information (address, phones, emails, etc.) click on More - Family Information - Update. It will send a request to the school to update those important items.

SAVE CLUB: Students interested in promoting an environmentally friendly atmosphere and helping De La Salle become ‘greener’ are encouraged to stop by room 432 this Tuesday and Thursday during Power Hour A to learn more about Students Against Vandalizing the Environment Club.

FAVORITE TEACHER BREAKFAST: The Admissions Office is hosting its annual Freshman Favorite Teacher Breakfast on Friday, Sept. 27 from 7:30-9 a.m. It is highly encouraged that all freshmen participate in this special event. This is a great way to thank the teachers and principals from your previous school for all they have done for you. To invite your favorite teacher, please CLICK HERE. OTHER SCHOOL NEWS
STUDENT COUNCIL CANDIDATES: If your son is interested in applying and interviewing to become a Student Council representative please see Mrs. Michol in Room 216 for the paperwork (or you can email her and she will share the documents). Applications are due this Friday.

MAKE-UP PICTURE DAY: For those students who missed Orientation, thus missing the chance to get their ID photos, a make-up day is scheduled for this Thursday. Students are asked to report to the multi-purpose room in the cafeteria to have their ID made. This is ONLY for students who did not get photos taken last week. … There will be a Picture Retake Day, which will be announced at a later date. 

CHRISTIAN SERVICE
Welcome to a new year of serving Jesus through faith, service, and community. This year,  freshmen and sophomores are expected to perform 10 hours of service to others; juniors and seniors are expected to perform 15 hours. Please have your son see Ms. Ragona in the Campus Ministry Office throughout the year for answers to his questions. Look for more information on Christian Service at the De La Salle website.

PARENT GROUP NEWS
CBA/MOMS CLUB: The Christian Brothers Auxiliary will host its annual Welcome Tea on Sunday, Sept. 8 to kick off the school year. Those who sent in RSVPs, please look for an email regarding event details soon. … The October general meeting & Rosary is Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. All are welcome to join us. The rosary is followed by our informational meeting, and then dinner and drinks in the cafeteria. 

DADS CLUB: De La Salle’s first home football game that need Dads Club support is Sept. 6 when the Pilots host London (Ont.) St. Thomas Aquinas at Wayne State’s Tom Adams Field. If you are a new freshman dad, or have helped in previous years, and want to help us with security, parking lot, or 50/50 raffle, please plan to arrive to the parking lot around 5:30 p.m. and speak with Michael Cooley Your help is greatly appreciated. … The Dads Club’s first general meeting of the year will be held on Sept. 18 in the school cafeteria from 7-9 p.m. Dinner and drinks will be served. All are welcomed to attend as we go over our plans for the new school year in support of De La Salle and our sons. We are also looking for a dad to become part of the Board to fill our vacant Treasurer position.

EXTRACURRICULAR NEWS
WIG AND MASK SOCIETY: Auditions for the WAMS fall production of CLUE: On Stage will take place on Monday, Sept. 16 and Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on stage in the De La Salle cafeteria. Reach out to WAMS Executive Director Kevin Fitzhenry ‘03. … There will be a viewing of Clue The Movie on Friday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 pm in the WAMS center in anticipation of auditions the following week.
