Parent Newsletter, Issue 12

The Pilot Pride Parent Newsletter is produced for the parents and friends of De La Salle Collegiate. The news and notes are compiled by the school’s faculty and staff, and emailed each week during the school year.

THIS WEEK AT THE COLLEGIATE
STUDENT SAFETY INITIATIVE: De La Salle is an OK2SAY school. This is a program designed to encourage students to share and respond to anything that threatens their safety or the safety of others. With support from the Michigan State Police, local law enforcement, schools, the health community, and many others, there are processes in place that help students submit confidential tips regarding criminal activities or harmful behavior. A link to the OK2SAY form is in the footer of every page on the school’s website.

CLEAN OUT THE GARAGE: Junior Will Smythe is collecting athletic equipment for boys and girls ages 4-17, as well as gently-used workout apparel and shoes to donate to the Sheriff Police Athletic League in Pontiac. PAL provides a safe environment where law enforcement and community partners empower young people to reach their potential through athletics, mentoring, and enrichment programs. Collection bins are set up in De La Salle’s main hallway now through this Thursday. For more information, contact PAL operations coordinator Justin Daniels at 248-761-0622.
