OTHER SCHOOL NEWS
VIDEO CHALLENGE FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK: De La Salle has been asked to participate in a fun way to show unity among our schools and increase awareness for all Catholic schools. The video will be distributed across the Archdiocese of Detroit’s social media channels and featured on its website. They are asking us to identify teachers, students, parents, and coaches to take videos on their phones of themselves, classmates, and students. The goal is to capture high-energy moments and quotes from students, teachers, and parents that show the value of Catholic education and its impact. Check out the video guidelines below for more details. Every school that participates will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win a pizza party for the entire school! The deadline for video submissions is Nov. 22.

Here are the Video Guidelines:
Device: Record using any smartphone
Length: 30 seconds to 2 minutes
Scenes to include: School assemblies (where everyone can yell we love our Catholic School!), sports practices, behind the scenes moments in class, at recess, pickup/drop-off, clubs, study halls, etc.
Example questions to ask for personal testimonies or interviews:
Students: What have you learned about your Catholic faith? What makes you excited about coming to school?
Teachers: What’s the best thing about being a teacher here? What do you hope your students learn from you?
Parents: Why did you decide to send your child to a Catholic school? What do you like the most about our school community?
Tips for filming: Make sure the phone is held horizontally in landscape instead of vertically to maximize the video screen space (this is important to make sure your clip is included in the final video!)
Avoid background noise when interviewing individuals.
Get 3-5 clips of individuals talking, focus on students — teachers and parents are not required.
Try to get students in a variety of ages and grades.
Send video files attached to an email or linked via the cloud to the Archdiocesan Communications team directly by the Nov. 22 deadline to marketing@delasallehs.com and Christine Warner
Please note that not all submissions are guaranteed to be included in the final video, but may be used on social media channels separately in the future.
