WARREN, Mich. – De La Salle Collegiate announced Wednesday that Dennis Parks will assume the role of interim athletic director immediately.
“Dennis Parks has been a staple at De La Salle for a long time, both in the school as a staff member and as a coach,” Principal Nathan Maus said. “I am eager to see his talents put to use in this new role as interim athletic director.”
Parks came to De La Salle in 2005 as the head varsity wrestling coach. Three years later, he became the school’s technology director, managing the technological needs of the students, and faculty and staff.
“I look forward to the challenge of leading our athletic department, not only through this pandemic, but throughout a very successful school year,” Parks said.
Parks’ professional career includes service as a technology coordinator for the Jefferson School District in Monroe, and systems administrator at Auburn Hills-based Morrell Inc. An accomplished wrestling coach for the past 24 years, Parks has also coached at Rochester Stoney Creek (2003-05), Troy Athens (2001-03), and Berkley (1996-2000). He was an assistant lacrosse coach at Regina in 2013.
A 1990 graduate of Hazel Park High School, Parks wrestled and ran cross country and track for the Vikings.
Parks is a U.S. Army veteran and possesses a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
