The De La Salle Collegiate varsity wrestling team opened up the Catholic League portion of its schedule on Wednesday against Madison Heights Bishop Foley and Birmingham Brother Rice.

The Pilots (8-8) rolled to a 72-12 win over Bishop Foley, before finishing off the Warriors, 41-39. First-year De La Salle wrestler Amadeo Marzorati, a junior, pinned his opponent to secure the win against Brother Rice.

Several Pilots went 2-0 on the night, including Marzorati (130-pound weight class), junior Brady Bennie (135-pound class), sophomore captain Joey Montilla (140-pound class), junior captain Nate O’Donnell (145-pound class), senior captain Dominic Ragona (171-pound class), junior Vinny Lertola (189-pound class) and juniors Cody and Casey Beleshi (215-pound class).

The Purple and Gold look to continue their winning ways at the North Farmington Team tournament, which is set to take place Saturday (time TBD) at North Farmington High School.
