While senior Mikos Rosati has a full schedule of classes, including several Advanced Placement (AP ) courses and activities like the Mock Trial Team and National Honor Society, and a restaurant job four days a week, he has worked to establish a new student ministry at De La Salle.

St. Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry

As St. Joseph of Arimathea cared for Jesus, offering his own tomb, members of Arimathean Ministries offer their presence, prayers, and comfort, especially those who may have few family members or may be homeless. 

Mikos heard about the idea, recognized its value for De La Salle students, and has worked to make the ministry happen. 

He says students could be pallbearers at the funeral and any cemetery-related services, and foresees the ministry also including cemetery visits, cleaning and caring for graves. 

Mikos is already looking ahead, developing a succession plan so the ministry will continue after he graduates. 

He says his faith has grown during his years at De La Salle through Theology classes each year, the Kairos retreats, and service opportunities.

The Work Others Don’t See: Time Management 

On track to graduate summa cum laude, his senior schedule includes AP Psychology, AP Statistics, and AP Literature and Composition. 

Mr Thaier Mukhtar noted that Mikos had a strong performance on the AP Government exam in May 2026. 

Mikos served as a class Senator on the DLS Student Council both his freshman and sophomore years, and as the Treasurer his junior year. 

Each day, he leads morning prayer, the pledge of allegiance, and school announcements. He is also a volunteer lector at Mass. 

He is involved with the DLS Mock Trial team which went to the state finals in Spring 2026. 

Mr. Brad Robinson, moderator for the Mock Trial group, said, “He takes his role with Mock Trial seriously and is one of the team’s top role players. He helps keep the trial team together and motivates others.”

An injury ended Mikos’s time on the soccer team, but he has managed to play some of the IM sports, including basketball and pickleball. He played baseball his freshman year, and says he could talk about football and the NFL “for hours.” 

Impactful Teachers

Mikos cites several faculty members as impactful, especially teacher and Director of Admissions Mr. Ben Westphal. He  describes Mikos as a student who demonstrates compassion and maturity beyond his years and as “someone who leads with humility, serves others, and leaves his community better than he found it.”

Mr. John Berlin says, “Mikos represents what the De La Salle experience is intended to be. He is someone who will not be outworked in class or extracurricular activities. He is one of the best and brightest members of the Class of 2027.” 

Berlin also appreciates the Orthodox perspective Mikos brings to Theology discussions.

The Rosati Family attends religious services at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (Troy) and Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church (Westland). 

Appreciating the DLS Environment and the DLS Brotherhood

Mikos says his decision to attend De La Salle was largely connected to many of his St. Lawrence classmates also heading to DLS.  

He particularly appreciates the smaller-school environment and knowing virtually everyone and knowing teachers personally. 

The idea of brotherhood/family is important to Mikos. He recalled being at a youth soccer camp where someone spoke to parents about the school and how students became a family. That concept resonated with him. 

And connects with his desire to make sure others feel included. 

Mukhtar says, “Mikos’s love for De La Salle is obvious. He bleeds purple and gold.” 

Mikos believes the Class of 2027 has matured significantly, become closer, developed stronger bonds, and formed relationships beyond the small groups of freshman year. 

He lives in Macomb Township with his parents Carlo and Nicole Rosati; an older sister attends the University of Michigan.

Mikos would like to attend the University of Michigan but is currently undecided on a potential major.
