Soccer continues St. Charles tradition

DETROIT - The Pilots' varsity soccer team and their families participated in a special service event at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Detroit on Sunday.

It is the soccer program's annual tradition to attend Mass at St. Charles, and afterwards, donate and serve a meal in its' community center. The meal serves approximately 150 individuals and families of the parish community, many of whom are considered at risk and needy. The meal was entirely donated, prepared, and served by the generous De La Salle soccer families.

St. Charles is a beautiful historic Capuchin-led church with a diverse and vibrant community of parishioners. Mass is always memorable and the Pilots enjoy celebrating with St. Charles every year.

The Pilots received many compliments Sunday and were especially grateful for the blessing given to the student athletes from the altar during Mass.
