The De La Salle Fishing team of senior Michael Lipinski and recent graduate Matt Burns (now attending MSU) took Runner-up in the Michigan High School Championship Bass Tournament held July 12, 2015. Lipinski and Burns had a five fish limit that weighed in at 15 pounds, 1 ounce, just two ounces less than the team from Coloma High School.  All other teams could not break 14.5 pounds.

High School fishing teams throughout Michigan launched out of Elizabeth Park Marina in Trenton, MI, searching for largemouth and smallmouth bass in the Detroit River and Lake Erie to compete for the state title.  All teams must be members of the Student Angler Federation chapter of The Bass Federation of Michigan.

Students interested in joining the DLS Fishing Club and possibly representing  De La Salle in future bass tournaments should contact Michael Lipinski at mlipinski16@dlspilots.net.
