8 teams advance to Jeopardy finals

WARREN, Mich. (Feb. 27, 2019) – Conner Popa, Joey Schaeffer, Tommy Scheper, Nick Severyn will be difficult to beat in the 22nd annual De La Salle Collegiate Jeopardy finals.

The senior quartet, known as Team 4, will seek a second consecutive title when they compete in Thursday’s Junior/Senior finals, hosted by Thaier Mukhtar.

Team 4 is among eight squads left standing after nearly two months of competitions.

The Freshman/Sophomore finals is today, the Junior/Senior finals is set for Thursday. Both championship rounds begin at 3 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

The Faculty/Staff Jeopardy will be held after school on March 5.

Here are the eight student teams that will compete in this week’s championship rounds:

FRESHMAN FINALISTS: Team 67 (Stavro Kiryakoza, Jack Rivera, Peyton Ross, Anthony Youngblood) and Team 34 (Mitchell Gaff, Aaron Kasuba, Abishek Kumar, Dominic Muglia).

SOPHOMORE FINALISTS: Team 57 (Mario Badali, Zack Mullins, Connor Pullen, Nicholas Yee) and Team 73 (Preston Earl, Jordan Gallo, Patrick Jaboro, Quayci Jackson).

JUNIOR FINALISTS: Team 30 (Justin Desmet, Saimer Kiryakoza, Brendan Pochmara, Andrew Rusu) and Team 21 (Gabe Kirck, Joe Kopke, Tyler Looman, Michael Vollmer).

SENIOR FINALISTS: Team 4 (Conner Popa, Joey Schaeffer, Tommy Scheper, Nick Severyn) and Team 38 (David Bowl, Daniel Gierlach, Avery Langowski, Andrew Livingston).
