Eric Manczyk Aiming for Eagle Scout

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Senior Eric Manczyk has been involved in Boy Scouts since middle school, and is currently completing requirements for the prestigious Eagle Scout Award.

For his project, Eric recently painted a purple and gold stripe around the DLS Band Room, cleaned up the Band Room, built a three-shelf trophy case, and added an additional storage unit in the upstairs closet. He is finalizing his presentation for the Scouting Board of Review. His troop meets at St. Thecla.

Eric chose the Music Room for his project since he has been in the Music Program all four years. He thinks the trophy case helps to highlight students’ achievements, and serves as an inspiration to current and past students.

Besides playing trumpet in the Jazz, Marching, and Concert Bands, Eric has appeared in WAMS productions all four years, and this year played the part of the “Scarecrow” in “The Wiz.”

Eric plans to attend Wayne State University, and major in Computer Science.
