DETROIT – This week, De La Salle’s International Baccalaureate students continued their summer service projects by helping facilitate Field Day at Maybury Elementary School in southwest Detroit.

In conjunction with Summer in the City – a non-profit organization bringing diverse groups of people together to invest their energy in Detroit – 14 De La Salle students helped organize the Tuesday event. The seven seniors and seven juniors coordinated event stations that consisted of a giant rainbow parachute, a dance party, a temporary tattoo station, button-making, soccer, and cooking s’mores.
