Kirck Named DLS Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mr. David Kirck, De La Salle Collegiate Teacher of the Year!

Mr. Kirck was selected by his teaching colleagues for the prestigious honor.

He was recognized for his achievement at a June 5  dinner sponsored by the Archdiocese of Detroit Schools at Warren DeCarlo Banquet Center.

Mr. Kirck, a 1983 graduate of DLS, has taught at DLS since 1990. His teaching responsibilities include College Prep Freshman English, Advanced Placement European History, and Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition. He also headed the school’s English Department for eleven years.

Principal Steve Stewart says, “Dave is a great example of an effective teacher with a passion for his subject, creativity in his lessons, and making connections with his students.  We are very proud and grateful to have him as part of our community.”

Mr. Paul Jozefczyk, ’83, noted, “Dave was a great classmate and an even better teacher for my twin sons. Congratulations Mr. Kirck!!”

“I am very fortunate to be surrounded by such a gifted and supportive faculty, staff, and administration,” says Mr. Kirck.
