WARREN, Mich. (May 3, 2019)  – Nearly 200 women joined their sons and grandsons at Mass on Friday morning at De La Salle Collegiate.

Organized by the Christian Brothers Auxiliary, mothers, and grandmothers sat with their sons during the liturgy, and then shared a brief breakfast in the school cafeteria.

“I was really happy to be here or Mass and be with my boys,“ said Tara Motowski, the mother of two De La Salle students, senior Dan and sophomore Vince. “Since this is May, the month of the Blessed Mother, it was especially meaningful.”

“It was really nice to see all the moms at Mass,” Dan Motowski said, “especially for the seniors to have their moms at our last Mass here in school.”

Vince Motowski added: “I liked having the time with my mother and seeing her in the middle of the day.”

The Motowskis attend St. Peter’s in Mt. Clemens.

For senior Dominic Balice and his mother, Linda, who attend St. Lawrence in Utica, the Mass touched them.

“Father talked about how loving a mother is and how much she sacrifices for us,” Dominic said.

Linda Balice noted that family Mass together is a priority in their household.

“This was a wonderful experience,” said Regina Krett, mother of senior Robert.

Robert Krett echoed his mom’s thoughts.

“It was a great experience to be at Mass with my mom,” he said “It is a good way to end my senior year.”

The Kretts attend St. Therese of Lisieux in Shelby Township.

Victoria Cornwell, mother of sophomore Ryan and senior Robert, said, “This was absolutely wonderful. I hope it becomes an annual tradition.”

The Cornwells attend St. Joan of Arc in St. Clair Shores.
