Congratulations to DLS Faculty Member Mr. Dennis Koch, DLS ’94, who earned his Master of Arts in Economics this past summer at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Dennis was also a graduate assistant during the Winter term for Harry Veryser, DLS ’61, Adjunct Professor of Economics.

Mr. Koch teaches A.P. Economics, I.B. Business Management, Accounting, and Banking. Many of Dennis’s students regularly participate in competitions sponsored by the Federal Reserve, as well as the Michigan Council on Economic Education.

He also moderates numerous activities at De La Salle, including Intramurals, the Stock Market Club, and DECA, in addition to being the liaison with the Christian Financial Credit Union (CFCU) and the assistant Varsity Golf Coach.

Despite his full plate of teaching and extracurricular responsibilities, Dennis says he pursued the Economics degree because “I thought it would help me become a better Economics and Business teacher. I’ve enjoyed learning about Economics and applying what I have learned to everyday classroom discussions.”

Mr. Koch’s undergraduate degree was a B.A. in Marketing from Michigan State University, and an M.Ed. from Saginaw Valley State University. He began teaching at DLS in 2005.

Principal Mr. Steve Stewart said, “Mr. Koch is a terrific member of the staff, always having the interests of the students foremost in all of his endeavors. He makes DLS that much the richer with his teaching, initiatives, and participation outside of the classroom.”
