WARREN, Mich. (March 11, 2019) – Recently, De La Salle Collegiate English teacher Traci Smith sat down with Michigan Virtual to share some gems about connecting with students, creating an atmosphere of trust and how she uses technology to help with all of it!

In The Digital Backpack podcast, Mrs. Smith chatted about updates to Google Classroom — more specifically the comment bank feature. It’s a great way to save commonly used feedback and save time while still providing feedback to students. Creating an advisory program to build community within a school and across grade levels. Frequently asking for feedback from students and colleagues, processing the data and then discussing results with key stakeholders. Mrs. Smith had some great insight into how this builds support in her classroom and school.

The Digital Backpack, powered by Michigan Virtual, is dedicated to sharing tips and tricks for teachers as they navigate their journey through online and blended learning. Join hosts Jeff and Erin as they discover new tools and resources for classroom use, talk to practitioners who are doing great things with their students, and have some fun.
