The Pilot Hangar – the ‘brick and mortar” school store – had a major “facelift” this summer.
Established in 2004, the Pilot Hangar carries various sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, and more for purchase online or in the store.
But after 13 years, Mrs. Anne Wiles, Vice President of Business and Operations at De La Salle Collegiate, decided that it was time for a fresh look.
Mr. Richard Artymovich, DLS ‘95, owner of EA Graphics and his crew made layout suggestions and provided “sweat equity” in transforming the Pilot Hangar into a more inviting space.
The Pilot Hangar is open mornings and afternoons (see schedule below), and anyone may purchase clothing items online 24/7.
Staffing the store are Mrs. Joann VanderPutten and Mrs. Christy Lietzow, assisted by students.
In the 2016-2017 school year, three students volunteered to assist in the store, said Mr. Dennis Koch, former Business teacher and now Director of Alumni Relations. This year, students from Mrs. Aarran Meier’s Marketing/Pilot Hangar class, a new piece of the Business curriculum, are learning the retail business in a more formalized setting.
Mrs. Wiles plans to have the Pilot Hangar become the central spot for all types of sales transactions within the school, such as tickets for Homecoming and Prom.
